About Leader Olumba Olumba Obu

The Kingdom of God on Earth

The Founder and Leader of Brotherhood of the Cross and Star is Olumba Olumba Obu, a man whoreceived virtually no formal education, never attended any church or religious meeting and yet has now become renowned for the potency and wisdom of His teachings. At His birth in the village of Biakpan in the tropical forests of South East Nigeria, a blind woman just by holding Him received her sight. When only three He said, ‘I am the Universal Teacher’. many miracles followed including the raising from the dead of both humans and animals.

Growth and Development
As a young man, olumba moved to the nearby town of Calabar where His ministry began in earnest. In 1958, the first members were baptised and put on their distinctive white robes. Since then, BCS has spread to many parts of the globe attracting people from all backgrounds. In 1991 the Leader revealed His beloved Son (who bears the same name) as ‘King of kings and Lord of lords’. A decade later, in April 2001 in a powerful ceremony witnessed by thousands, the Holy Father handed His kingdom to His Son as He seated Him on His own throne and placed a crown on His head, Revelation 7:9-17

Christ and the Comforter
Central to everything done in Brotherhood of the Cross and Star are the teachings of Our Lord Jesus Christ. Two millenia ago He introduced a host of concepts to humankind which over the years have radically changed the world we live in for the better. In spite of this huge impact He said there was still more to be revealed but this would not be done by Him but by the ‘Spirit of Truth’ or ‘Comforter’ that was to come after Him. John 16:12-13

The Law of Love
The great commandment that Christ left with us was to ‘love one another’ and this is the one law that all Brotherhood of the Cross and Star members are required to practise. The love we are talking about is not to be reserved only for our family and friends and those of like mind but to be extended to all people regardless of their character, their race, religion or culture. This love is also to include all others creatures and the creation as a whole because we are a part of everything and everything is a part of us. John 13:34

Everlasting Gospel
Around this one law revolve all other teachings in Brotherhood of the Cross and Star. These are derived from recordings of unprepared sermons delivered over a period of over forty years by Leader Olumba Olumba Obu in His native ‘Efik’ language. Now written down and translated into English and other languages, this immense body of work is collectively called the ‘Everlasting Gospel’. Many of these teachings can be found in other faiths around the world. This is not because they have merely been extracted from each tradition and patched together, but due to the fact they all originate in the one same Source. That Source is the Spirit of Truth who has now come by Himself to teach and lead humankind to the accurate knowledge of truth so that we may know which teachings are directly from God and which are not. This therefore is the time for the fulfilment of those prophecies which say there shall be one flock and one Shepherd, one kingdom and one King. Revelation 14:6-7, John 14:26, 10:16, Daniel 2:44
