“PURIFICATION THROUGH FASTING, PRAYER AND TOTAL ABSTINENCE FROM SIN”

1ST LESSON: ST. LUKE 5 : 35-36
“But the days will come, when the bridegroom shall be taken away from them, and then shall they fast in those days. And he spake also a parable unto them; No man putteth a piece of a new garment upon an old; if otherwise, then both the new maketh a rent, and the piece that was taken out of the new agreeth not with the old”.

2ND LESSON: GALATIANS 5: 24
“And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts”.

GOLDEN TEXT: ST. MATTHEW 17: 21.
“Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting”.
Brethren, the passage read to you is enemy of the Orthodox Churches. Christ has said that whoever breaks the least of these commandments and shall teach others to break it, the same shall be called the least in the Kingdom of God. Why is it that they have not included the phrase “fasting and prayer” in the various Bibles? When the disciples asked Him, why could we not heal him, what did Our Lord Jesus Christ answered them? He told them that it was because of their lack of faith. If you were to have faith as small as a mustard seed, you would say to the sycamore tree to be uprooted into the sea, it would be done and nothing shall be impossible unto them. But this cannot be done except by fasting and prayer.
THE WHOLE WORLD IS BROTHERHOOD
What I want to reveal unto you is neither sweet nor bitter but it is the truth. It is not a new gospel neither is it old but it is new to the whole world today. If you have prepared a dish, you cannot know whether it is delicious or not except you taste it. In the same way, if you buy a car, you cannot say whether the car is good or not until you drive it. I am not inviting any person to come to Brotherhood because I know that the whole world is Brotherhood including the birds and fishes and every creation of God. But I am imparting this to the inhabitants of the whole world just as they should know. There is no need for any person to say that he is coming to 34, Ambo Street, Calabar. Stay wherever you are, whether in America, or India and believe that the word you are hearing today is the truth, go and practice it for this is the source of your salvation.
GOD IS THE ONLY SOURCE OF POWER
Do not bother spending your money to study the Bible in the University. The Word of God is not studied in the university. Do not allow any person to deceive you that he can give you power. There is no one who can give you power. I know that the entire world is angry with Me because I have cheapened their means of livelihood by declaring these things openly unto you. Yes, My duty is to declare them openly so that every person may see the glory of God. Even within the Brotherhood, man cannot disclose this matter to you. All those who have healing homes are here now. I want them to come forward and listen to this gospel. If you say that there is power in a particular Bethel, I am telling you that there is no power when you go there. They will place you on three days dry fasting, has that healed you? If you conduct this fasting in your house, would you not be healed?
NEW WINE CAN ONLY BE PRESERVED IN NEW WINE SKIN
That is why it is said that after the bridegroom has been taken away from them, they will then fast in those days. Right from that day He was crucified, you should not go to any person for healing. Remain in your own house and fast and your problems will be solved. If you are on your own and fast and pray, you will see Him. You will realise the power and glory of God in you. I am saying this to your shame. Many of you do not fast; even the Thursday fasting, there are many Pastors and Apostles who cannot perform the common 6am to 6pm fasting. You have heard that God had given them power to heal. He has also given this power to you and Me. If you fast and pray and refrain from drunkenness and other sins, the Holy Spirit will start His work in you. You have heard that old wine should not be put into new wine skin and you should not use new piece of cloth to patch an old one, but new wine are put in new skin and so both are preserved.
EFFICACY OF FASTING
There is a reason I always refer to the words from the mouth of God. I do not refer to the words of prophet or apostle. Because many people confess that Jesus did not fast. But is He not the person who made that statement? He said that you couldn’t achieve the kind of power except through fasting and prayer. Did Our Lord Jesus Christ Himself not fast? Fasting originates with the Holy Spirit. You can see that when the spirit descended upon Him, He was led into the desert for forty days and forty nights for purification; because you cannot put new wine in an old skin otherwise the skin will burst and the wine will spill. If there is any person in this world who says that he has eaten and drunken to his satisfaction and has power, bring him to Me. There is no such person because you have to put new wine in a new wineskin. This grace is for every person. Whether you are a juju doctor or you do not go to church, no matter whether you are the president or governor, from now that I have given this injunction from high heaven, every person must comply with it. Remain in your house, fast and pray and you will feel the impact of the power of the Holy Spirit.
THROUGH FASTING, MAN IS REUNITED WITH GOD
Our Lord Jesus Christ is God and He knows all things. Since He alone had the Spirit that is why He said that it was not necessary for His disciples to fast while He was still with them; because He had not yet washed their sins away. The main issue was that man was not together with God. Man was separated from God and so He came to shed His blood and reunite them. That is why He said from the day of His death, we then have to fast and pray so that we may draw near to God and God may draw near to us.
GREATER LOVE HAS MAN THAN THIS THAT A MAN SHOULD SHED HIS BLOOD FOR OTHERS
The work, which the shedding of blood has done, is wonderful and awe-inspiring, and so He is worthy of honour and glory. Through His death, Herod and Pilate were reconciled and became friends. Hitherto they were enemies who never agreed on any issue. But through His death, they were reconciled. Do not be deceived because He had said that whoever believes in Him shall do the works that He did and greater works than this will ye do. No other person can do it but Himself. He is the same worker who does what is greater. He only wants to test our faith. You may say that a certain person has done the work, which Jesus did not do. If Our Lord Jesus Christ did not die to unite us with God, where would you have found the Spirit? Where would you have found salvation? Even now, if your town is at enmity with the next town to the extent of killing one another, can you go to the next town and preach? Can you go and return alive?
HIS DEATH BRIDGED THE GAP BETWEEN THE JEWS AND SAMARITANS
You have heard that during the advent of Our Lord Jesus Christ, the Jews and the Samaritans were at enmity with each other. They did not greet themselves. There was no other way to have united the whole world apart from spilling His blood. He has used His blood to unite the whole world unto one indivisible whole and they have now become children of God. You have heard that the temple had two tabernacles, the first was called the sanctuary. The priests always went into the first tabernacle, accomplishing the service of God. And after the second veil, the tabernacle, which is called the Holiest of all, the high priest alone went into the second, once every year, not without blood, which he offered for himself and for the errors of the people.
THE OMNIPRESENCE OF THE HOLY SPIRIT
At that time people had to go to worship God at the temple. No person could worship at any other place apart from the temple in Jerusalem. How many could afford this, and how many could be accommodated? That was the case then. Also if one did not come from the priestly tribe, he would not go near such areas. It was at the death of Our Lord Jesus Christ that the veil of the temple was cut into two and so abolishing all observances and their limitations. You do not worship God in a room any more. The church denominations do not know this. They do not know that it is a sin to erect a building for God. What did Christ demolish, was it not the temple? God is a Spirit and He lives in you and is everywhere. Stay in your house and fast and pray, call on Him, He will answer you because the Holy Spirit is Omnipresent.
THE DESTRUCTION OF THE TEMPLES PREDICTED
When the disciples drew His attention to the imposing and magnificent structures of the synagogue and temple, He told them that no stone will be left on top of another but all shall be razed to the ground. Did you not see what happened yesterday? By shouting on the Cross, the great stones and structures of the temple were broken down. Now, you are going about erecting what He had pulled down. You build houses and call them churches and cathedrals. God has no business with that.
You will recall what the Samaritan woman told Our Lord Jesus Christ. She said, “our fathers worshipped in this mountain; and ye say, that in Jerusalem is the place where men ought to worship”, Jesus said unto her, “Woman, believe Me, the hour cometh, when ye shall neither in this mountain nor yet at Jerusalem worship the Father. You worship what you do not know; we know what we worship, for salvation is of the Jews. But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers will worship the Father in spirit and in truth, for the Father seeketh such to worship Him. God is a spirit and they that worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in Truth”.
What He was referring to in His statement was that after He had shed His blood and washed away our sins, the only form of worship should be fasting and prayer. Right now, if you start on this practice, separate yourself from all sins and continue in fasting and prayer, you will see the glory and power of God shinning in you. He will speak to your hearing and the Holy Spirit will start His mighty works in you.
REFRAIN FROM SIN
Whatever you are, forsake fornication and theft. Do not indulge in the preparations of concoctions. Do not smoke. Do not be-grudge any person. Refrain from all that He has told you and fast and pray. You will feel the impact of His power and glory in you. If you are a Thomas, and always doubt, continue to fast and pray: refrain from fornication and drinking for a day or two and notice whether the spirit will not descend on you.
There is no useful purpose served going to the mountain to pray or going to receive prayers from people. Stay in your house or office and fast, neither drink nor fornicate. Continue to fast and pray and realise if you will not witness the power and glory of God in you. Have you not heard what He said this is the new covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, I will put My laws into their minds”. Right now the Holy Spirit is living inside you. When you fast and pray it means that you are cleaning your body for the Holy Spirit to come in. Remember also that Christ has said that except one is born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the Kingdom of God. Unfortunately, the orthodox churches do not receive the baptism by complete immersion in water. They sprinkle water on the forehead and accept that as baptism. That is why they cannot receive the Holy Spirit. He said that after those days, people should fast. But the worldly people argue that Our Lord Jesus Christ has put an end to fasting and so there is no more fasting. They refuse to fast that is why they are in the least position and are worth nothing.
It is said that He who has called you is Holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation – in your body, in your heart, in your thoughts and in your deeds just as He is Holy. It is said that they will fast after those days. Those days started yesterday when He was nailed on the Cross. Did you fast with Him? You have to fast with Him. He did not say that you should fast for a few days, and then stop. The phrase is “after those days”, and so there is no time limit for fasting. It is continuous; till eternity. Let us listen to our first lesson. Many of the Pastors and other ordained ones do not fast at all and they will be ashamed because of this Gospel. When they fast to 8 am, they ask their wives to give them food because they cannot continue any longer:

Can you now see what hinders the Holy Spirit? He said that if He did not go, the Holy Spirit will not come; but when He goes, He shall send the Comforter. The Holy Spirit has come but you cannot see Him because you cannot accommodate the Holy Spirit with an evil spirit in you. You have to fast and bid farewell to the evil spirit, then will the new person come into his house. It is only there and then will you have peace.
EFFICACY OF FASTING AND PRAYER
Have you realised why it is said that a blind man cannot lead another blind man? If a blind man leads the blind, both will fall into a pit. The church denominations are blind leaders; they argue that there is no Holy Spirit and that the power of God is no more. He is here! But unless you abide by His instructions, you will not see Him and the Holy Spirit will not dwell in the heart of a fornicator and a drunkard. That was why God sent John as a forerunner to teach the people fasting and baptism and prepare them for His coming. There is no person who claims to work for God and does not fast and pray. If you do not do this you are not a worker of God. Before Moses went to receive the Ten Commandments from the hand of an angel, he fasted for forty days and forty nights, and prayed. Prophet Elijah was on the mountain fasting and continuing instantly in prayers to God day and night for many days.
THE REALM OF THE HOLY SPIRIT
The flesh fights against the spirit, and the spirit against the flesh, and this contrast one to the other, so that you cannot do the thing, which you like. If you do not fast and pray, you are doing harm to yourself because the Holy Spirit will not come to you. But He is waiting for you at the door. From the day the way was open for everyone, the Holy Spirit assumed His reign in heavens and on earth forever and ever. If you are sick, fast and pray for a day, two or three, and your sickness will be healed. If you have a case in court, no matter how difficult it may be, do not consult any lawyer; do not tell any person your problems. Fast and pray, as many days as you can and the case will be struck off. If your child, wife, husband or whoever is sick, fast and pray for the person and the Holy Spirit will heal. Leave candles and perfumes and incense and drawing of circles aside. Set aside all names like John and “abracadabra”. Once you purify yourself for the Holy Spirit, that is all. You will see Him and He will take away all your problems. All He requires is self-purification. You can now realise your stubbornness and hardness of heart. You say that you should be given food because the Lord Jesus Christ had ended fasting. He has fasted and completed His work, what about yours? If you do not fast, what can you do?
DO NOT DEFILE THE TEMPLE OF GOD
He has told you that even between husband and wife; if you come together and after that you do not fast, that house is defiled and the Holy Spirit does not come near you again, and Satan will tempt you in your incontinence. Have you realised the reason that people argue that the Holy Spirit ended on the day of Pentecost? That is erroneous. It is because they have broken His laws and instructions. He has no business with evil spirits, drinks and snuffs and fornication, which defile the body and leave it stinking. The Holy Spirit cannot go to such a body. If you are told that a certain person has great power and can do a lot of healing, you can be sure that he does fasting and pray. When you take a sick person to him, he will be advised to fast. He himself will also fast and the Holy Spirit will start His work. Observe from now on, any healing home you go to, the first thing you will be told is to go on fasting for three days. If you do not recover, he will give you another three days until the Holy Spirit comes and does His work. There is no person who has power. But when you keep these instructions, fast and purify His house and He will come in and do His work. There is no other person; it is the Christ who does everything.
SIGN FOR THE PRESENCE OF GOD
What the world loves is what God hates and what God loves is what the world hates. Food, drinks, fornication, lies; anger and malice are what hinder the Holy Spirit. If you go to a healing home, and you are not told to fast and pray, you can be sure that you are going to be treated with leaves and roots and barks of trees. These things do not work. But whenever the Holy Spirit is operating, these three things must be present: water, blood and the spirit. When you confess your sins and fast and pray, it is then that the Holy Spirit will come in and take away all your problems. Wherever you go, and you see the Holy Oil and water and hear the word of God, God is in that place. But if you go to a place and do not see the oil or the water and hear the word of God, go away. Leave that place because the Holy Spirit is not there. “Many people in the psychiatric hospitals are not really mad people but when the Holy Spirit enters into them and meets with the evil spirit in them, they become highly inspired”. Many people that you find in the prison and mental houses are also the work of the Holy Spirit. “When the Holy Spirit comes to meet the evil spirit in them, they are turned into other things”.
THE FIGHT BETWEEN THE HOLY SPIRIT AND EVIL SPIRIT RESULTS IN LUNACY
When Christ did not receive the Holy Spirit, He did not fast for forty days and forty nights. When He did not receive the Holy Spirit did He go into the desert? When He received baptism, the Holy Spirit led Him into the desert and He fasted for forty days and forty nights. In the ‘desert’, the spirits which are in man started to war with Him. They asked Him to eat and do certain things. Many of you do not stand firm. You go and inject certain things into your body and sacrifice hens. The Holy Spirit will surely desert you. Man is man and so you cannot just go and drive man out of his house without meeting with resistance. He has to put up a fight. If you go to war with another village, the first thing is to block their means of subsistence because when they become hungry, they will surrender. That is why if you fast and do not drink and fornicate and tell lies all the spirits which commit these sins will desert you because they are hungry. And so the Holy Spirit will reign in you. Let our second lesson be read:
2ND LESSON GALATIANS 5: 24
“And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts”.
As the heavens are higher than the earth, so is the wisdom of God greater than that of men. You will recall that many years ago, after April Pentecostal Assemblies, many people were left between life and death – people who attended the Pentecostal Assemblies, no matter where, found it difficult to lift up their heads. Through God’s infinite wisdom, the three days dry fasting washes the tabernacle. The Holy Spirit then enters into His tabernacle and you have no problems whatever. During the one month of Pentecostal period, it is also expected that one should undertake fasting daily from 6am to 6pm, in order that one should surrender himself to the Word of God. This fasting is the underlying precious thing in this Kingdom of God.
FASTING, A DUTY FOR ALL CHILDREN OF GOD
You have now heard it read to you that they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. If you do not mortify the flesh, you are nowhere. That is the precious thing existing in this Kingdom. That is the wonderful thing here unknown to the world. That is the profound wisdom, which the world has not, but has been given to you. I am telling you as those who are ignorant but I am addressing it to the entire world that they may participate no matter their leanings. Whether they are church denominations or service centres, or prayer houses, it does not matter. The native doctors or juju priests, and men of all walks of life should share in it because the Holy Spirit has come to minister unto all the Four Corners of the world.
People hold that the disciples of Our Lord Jesus Christ did not fast and so they ought not to fast. Realise that it was said, “But the days will come, when the bridegroom shall be taken away from them, and then shall they fast in those days”. Accordingly, since ‘those days, Peter, James, John and all other disciples had fasted and will be observed till eternity, that is the way it should be. Know no man by the flesh any longer. One is known in the spirit. When you pray and fast, you will be vested with power; you will realise the benefit of it; your way will be wide open and your ears and eyes will be opened to hear and see. Under that condition, if you pray for the sick, the person will be healed. There is no need to go to the mountain, or to any person; it is a sheer waste of time. Do not go there any longer.
ABSTAIN FROM ALL APPEARANCES OF EVIL
Many of you complain that God has not given you the power to heal the sick. He has given you. The Holy Spirit does not discriminate. But food, fornication, malice, snuff, wine, backbiting and all the abominable life, which you live, hinders the Holy Spirit. It is not expected that you should continue to begrudge people. You should no longer think about the things of this earth. You should neither be exasperated, nor take even soft drinks, nor snuff, nor smoke cigarette, nor inject black powder into your body, nor take injection, syrup, and tablets. When you go to the hospital for any medication, the Holy Spirit will desert you because the flesh is defiled. Many people no longer feel the impact of anything. You were a spirited child in the past but today you are not, because you have adulterated your body. You pray the Holy Spirit to come to your aid and on arrival, find the house very filthy: the Spirit will stand aside to watch you. Who will save you? There is no way. But if you surrender yourself, not taking injection, not committing fornication but fast, you will be well. Fasting does not kill but food kills.
PURGE THE HOUSE OF GOD
You will remember that Our Lord Jesus Christ told Peter, I will build My house upon this rock. You are the house of the spirit and the spirit dwells in you. This is not the time for one to demand for prayers or go to a certain church. You are the church. Right from those days, this has been the third covenant. For this reason, we have to fast and pray. You should no longer be angry, pronounce curse on somebody, be prejudicial or tell lies. We should neither indulge in the preparation of concoction nor bear malice. Surrender yourself completely unto Him. He will converse with you whenever and wherever you are, He will teach you and show wonderful things to you. He does everything and you will have no problems at all. You will instead become a fearful thing unto the world.
IF YOU DEFILE YOUR BODY, GOD DESTROYS YOU
It is said, Meats for the belly and the belly for meats; but God shall destroy both it and them. Now the body is not for fornication, but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body. The dry fasting we undertake from time to time is preparation in advance, for the Pentecostal every quarter, in order to wash the house clean for the Holy Spirit. Right from the time dry fasting is conducted; you had been filled with the Word of God. Now you are a house of the Word, and you are spiritually filled. There is no occasion of stumbling. The Holy Spirit is free to dwell in His house. Can you not realise how bright your faces are?
FASTING REUNITES MAN WITH GOD
Many people find nothing bad in fornication. You fast and yet continue in fornication. What sort of fasting is that? You fast and pray and stay away from a woman, yet you pronounce curses on somebody. What sort of fasting is that? Why do you not as well refrain from curses? The Word ‘fast’ means ‘complete abstinence from all manners of sin, purification of one’s self and complete surrender to God’. You control yourself in your speech, fornication, anger, quarrelling, drinking and separating yourself from such vices to allow the Holy Spirit to enter into His house and perform wonders. It was on this note that Our Lord Jesus Christ said, ‘And for their sakes I sanctify Myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth’. This implies fasting. It is for this reason that a lot of people do it in the bush, or inside the house, or in any secluded place. This is so because noise, food, beautiful women and handsome men are capable of distracting attention. Purify yourself and the Father will do His work. Brethren, I do not intend to belabour you. Let our golden text be read. This is from the horse’s mouth, the Words that proceed out of the mouth of God. The world argues that Our Lord Jesus Christ directed that no one should fast. Listen now to what Our Lord Jesus Christ says. You cannot do the work except through fasting and prayer. To some of you, your belly is your God.

The Efik translation of the bible contributes to the claims by many that the Holy Spirit does not exist. The Word ‘fasting’ was expunged from the Efik and even some English versions of the Bible was wilful to suit the whims and caprices of the people, the translators who do not believe in fasting and in the fact that the Lord’s disciples fasted. Because of this, they are overshadowed with darkness. They do not have the Holy Spirit and so claim that the Holy Spirit is no more in existence.
THE PROMISED COMFORTER
He said, “I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now. Howbeit when He, the Spirit of Truth, is come, He will guide you into all truth”. The people of the world do not hear this reference made, that there were many things He did not teach the disciples, but when the Holy Spirit would come, He would reveal all things unto them. But when the things are revealed, people argue that Our Lord Jesus Christ did not mention that another person (The Comforter) will come.
THE UNIVERSAL DISPERSAL OF THE GOSPEL
One of the things you had heard was that in those days, Jews, Greeks, Samaritans, were all at dagger-drawn. That was why He instructed the disciples not to enter into the way of the Gentiles or Samaritans, but to go unto the lost sheep of the House of Israel. For this reason, all church denominations dance to that tune. This is just what Our Lord Jesus Christ did during His early ministration. If a member of a certain church denomination lies ill in the hospital, members of that denomination who visit the hospital will offer prayers to their member. They will segregate and then make reference to the Bible that Our Lord Jesus Christ did the same. Our Lord Jesus Christ did this when He did not yet shed His Blood. It was not His intention to set it up as a guiding principle. That was why He said that another Comforter will come who will reveal everything unto you. After His resurrection, did He not say, ‘Go ye into the world and make all nations My disciples? It was no longer exclusively for the Israelites alone. Right now, He has amalgamated the entire world into one indivisible whole, but some still try to create disparity. It indicates the presence of some vestiges of the old wine in them.
WHY CHRISTIANS SHOULD NOW FAST
The Pharisees and the Scribes went to Him and asked why do our disciples and those of John the Baptist fast, but your disciples fast not? And He answered them saying; can the children of the bride-chamber fast, when the bridegroom is with them? This is the aspect the church denominations capitalise on. They will always tell you that they do not fast because they are the disciples of Our Lord Jesus Christ. The aspect that the children of the bridechamber will fast when the bridegroom shall be taken away from them is no longer heard. They only hear the first word of the statement, and would not listen to whatever follows.
Thirdly, it serves all if you affirm your belief, like; do you believe that Jesus is the Son of God? Once you believe, you cannot tell lies, steal, murder, and fornicate, once you believe you are saved. It is still the practice. But what about those who follow after Him? What are they expected to do? It does not end at accepting He is the Son of God; you must demonstrate in your actions. What about the lies you tell, the charm you have prepared, the person you kill? Do you think you will be saved? Do you think all that is required is the affirmation? That is the rudimentary teaching of Our Lord Jesus Christ. There is no other way. You must start at zero. When He shall come, He will have a basis on which to spring to higher and matured concepts. Since He has come, you have to follow Him faithfully. You do not have to be angry. You are advised to forsake fornication, you should not argue that you belong to Jesus. The belief is that immediately you accept that Our Lord Jesus Christ is the Son of God, you have done well. Even if you kill, you will seek to be excused, claiming that Our Lord Jesus Christ had taken away all our sins. Thou believe that there is one God, thou do well: the devils also believe and tremble. But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead? That is why Our Lord Jesus Christ says, why call ye Me, Lord, Lord and do not the things, which I say? He also says, Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord shall enter into the Kingdom of Heaven; but he that doeth the will of My Father, which is in heaven.
EMULATE THE EXAMPLES OF CHRIST
Your problem in this kingdom is that ninety-nine percent of you do not fast, even the Thursday fasting. Many people here even confess before Me that they have never fasted and console themselves by saying that the Father is fasting for them. I tell them that I am doing Mine and they should do theirs. It is said that each person will bear his own burden. Do you not watch what I do? I work round the clock without getting fatigued. You who would not fast can you survive one hour of stress? If you stay up to 8 am, you scout around for food asking everybody around to provide you with what to eat. Can you not realise that I am up to date? That is the Leader that I am. I teach and show by examples what you should also do. But you instead turn round to claim that I pray for you. I pray not for you but for Myself. You should pray for yourself. This is history repeating itself. Our Lord Jesus Christ taught that we should follow His exemplary life but you argue that Our Lord Jesus Christ died for you. Since He died for you, are you saved? Even as you are not practising His teachings, are you like unto Him?
THIS IS THE TIME TO PRACTISE THE WORD OF GOD
Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on Me, the works that I do shall he also do; and greater works than this shall he do: because I go unto My Father. Why do you not do greater works? His words are true because He is true. The cankerworm in the fabric of the entire world is that you have forsaken Him and His Words. I do not make reference to other doctrines or philosophies. I extract everything from the Bible. And now, it is incumbent upon you to practice all the injunctions in the Bible. If any injunction remains to be practice, I will refer you back to it. What is wrong? What do I seek for? But for good seventy-two hours I remained in the confinement of the walls of the altar, to protect your interest but you were loitering about. Some went to work, some to other personal businesses, arguing that the Father fasts for them. What sense is in your argument? Do you feel that women are new, or that young men are relatively new? Is fornication or the sins you indulge yourselves in new? They are all old. If you fail to practice the Gospel, you will not be saved. Many of you have never attended any fasting here nor in any Bethel. You do not even fast in your houses but you claim to be Brotherhood. Tell Me what sort of Brotherhood member you are? I want you to be a witness to what the Apostles did. Read Acts 13: 2-3:
“As they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Ghost said, separate me Barnabas and Saul for the work whereunto I have called them. And when they had fasted and prayed, and laid their hands on them, they sent them away”.
DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE HOLY GHOST AND THE SPIRIT OF TRUTH
Right from the day He ascended, Peter and others fasted. Fasting is the key. They even at certain times went on the rooftop to fast; another gospel has surfaced. There is the term Holy Ghost” as read out to you, and there is also the Spirit of Truth, which Our Lord Jesus Christ promised would come. The two are not synonymous. Our Lord Jesus Christ referred to the Spirit of Truth, and this passage talk about the Holy Ghost. What have you to say on this issue? That is why I tell you that I have many things to tell you. Of course, I have come. A woman has delivered in the market place, why talk about privacy again. The Holy Ghost is the Spirit of Our Lord Jesus Christ. When the Holy Ghost, the Spirit of Our Lord Jesus Christ descended on them, the disciples spoke in divers tongues and people from various nations, heard them. You will realise that the Apostles fasted and laid hands on others. In your own case, I have never seen any of you during fasting. Right from today, it is incumbent on the entire world to fast and pray. Do not say that you want to go and see the Leader see the Leader in your house. Abstain from food, and from fornication, from falsehood and other vices. Fast and pray and receive the Holy Spirit and you will receive Him.
FASTING DECLARED ON ALL INHABITANTS OF THE WORLD
From the day Our Lord Jesus Christ pronounced, ‘it is finished’, troubles, sufferings, and all sinfulness ended. It is not expected that you should continue in evil doing so that the Holy Spirit may take dominion over you and reveal His glory. Wherever there is an actor, there must of necessity be a speaker. If you had refrained from sins and allowed the Holy Spirit to rule over you, you would have had no problems. Many of those who had undertaken the seventy-two hours dry fasting had since after been sexually intimate with their partners. After that, they no longer fasted and so became covered with darkness, the evil spirit rose up and governed them. That means fasting becomes a waste. A similar thing happened to Moses. He went to the mountain top, fasted for forty days and forty nights and received the tablet containing the Ten Commandments from the hands of the angel. On his return, he found that his brother Aaron had made another god for the people. With annoyance, he threw the tablet down and it got broken into pieces. For this reason, he had to fast again to go back to the mount and to collect the commandments. He was the loser. In the same token, you ought to fast again. I am always after you. Whatever you are, a governor, president, millionaire, juju priest or king, you have to fast. I am making this declaration to the whole world and angels that you must fast in order to share in the Holy Spirit. That is what is meant by God helping those who help themselves. The reign of the Holy Spirit is for eternity. It is not something that will last for twenty million years and end. For this reason, this practice will continue forever.
Brethren, I do not intend to be tedious unto you. A stroke of the cane is sufficient unto the wise. Those who have ears let them hear. May God bless His Holy Words. Amen.
